Frequently asked questions
Is the free version really free?
Yes. The free plan is permanently free and requires no registration. The limit of 5 API requests per IP per day only applies to automated requests via the REST API.
How do I activate a paid plan?
Contact us via the form with the plan you want (Starter or Business). We'll set up your access and invoice you — the prices above are fixed with no hidden costs. For volume beyond Business, we'll put together a custom quote.
Is there an API key for the free plan?
No, the free plan does not require an API key. For Starter and Business with a dedicated key and higher limits, please contact us.
What payment methods are accepted?
We currently accept bank transfer (SEPA) and invoice. Online card payment is in progress and not yet available.
What happens if I go over the free plan's request limit?
The free plan allows 5 requests per IP address per day against the REST API. Once you reach that limit, further requests return an HTTP 429 error until the counter resets at midnight UTC. If you consistently need more, contact us about the Starter or Business plan.
Can I cancel a paid plan at any time?
There's no self-service subscription to cancel — Starter and Business access is set up manually after you contact us and is billed by invoice or SEPA transfer rather than automatic recurring card billing. If you want to stop, just let us know and we'll deactivate future billing; the free plan itself never needs cancelling since it has no ongoing charge at all.
Is there a bulk/batch API for validating many IBANs at once?
Yes — the Starter plan includes a Bulk API on top of the standard per-request REST endpoints (validate, BIC lookup, bank search) available on every plan, so you can validate many IBANs in one call instead of one request per IBAN. Contact us to have it set up.
Do I need a credit card to use the free plan?
No. The free plan works immediately with no signup, credit card, or payment details at all. Paid plans are set up manually after you contact us and are billed by invoice or SEPA transfer — online card payment isn't available yet.
